SMVDU Katra, November 2020. Dr. Amitabh V. Dwivedi, Faculty, School of Languages & Literature, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra, delivered two invited talks on research methodology as a Resource Person during a week-long workshop on “Research Methodology in Literary Studies” (03-07 November 2020) at Central University of Kashmir.
In the two engaging and comprehensive sessions, Dr. Dwivedi dealt with research topics, “How to Write an Abstract for Academic Publications” and “How to Make the Research Writing Argumentative”. The talks were well-supported with examples from various literary texts and academic papers, while highlighting the critical aspects of abstract and argumentative writing.
The workshop was attended by the Research Scholars and Faculty Members from different Institutions and Universities of Indian States. Dr. Ishrat Bashir, Coordinator of the Workshop & Faculty, Central University of Kashmir, thanked Dr. Amitabh V. Dwivedi, and she looked forward to inviting him again for such academic interactions.
Dr. Amitabh Vikram Dwivedi, Faculty, School of Languages & Literature, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra, delivered an invited talk on "How to Publish in Academic Journals" at International Webinar on Global Challenge in Aviation and Education on the theme, titled "Academic Writing & Publication", organized by Aviation Polytechnic of Makassar, Indonesia.
Dr. Dwivedi discussed many issues related to scholarly publications, such as reputed directories, review processes, good & predatory journals, H-index, citation, quality research, and alike. The participants raised many questions which were answered satisfactorily.

SMVDU Katra, Oct. 2020. Dr. Amitabh Vikram Dwivedi, Faculty, School of Languages & Literature, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra, has been awarded with “Eminent Intl. Educational Leader Award 2020” by the International Society of Teachers, Administrators and Researchers (ISTAR), Global Headquarters, Thailand, in recognition of his significant and altruistic contribution to educational administration, research and publication during International Research and Development Congress (23-25 October 2020) on Teaching English to Speakers of other Languages.
Dr. Dwivedi has been quite active in research and publication, and even during lockdown he has delivered thirty keynote, plenary and guest lectures in various conferences, seminars and congresses nationwide and internationally. Also, he has been an impetus for documenting regional and lesser-known languages, including Dogri, Bhadarwahi, Sarazi and others of Jammu & Kashmir. The National Digital Library of India (NDLI), MHRD, features his 19 lectures in the public domain.
Dr. Dwivedi has published 180 research papers, articles and chapters to SCI & SCOPUS journals, including Knowledge Resources, chiefly EBSCO and to 16 encyclopedias, published by Springer-Nature, SAGE, Rowman & Littlefield, and ABC-CLIO Publications.
Also, the UNESCO Atlas of the World's Languages in Danger refers to his two works on the Bhadarwahi language at its official website. His published books are found in the libraries of University of Stanford & Princeton.

Ms. Bhushan Sharma, Research Student, School of Languages & Literature, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra, has been declared qualified for the award of the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.). She has carried out her research work in the field of Dalit feminism on the topic, titled “Locating Dalit Feminist Standpoint: Select Dalit Women’s Life Narratives as Testimonies.”
Ms. Sharma has worked under the supervision of Dr. Anurag Kumar, Faculty, School of Languages and Literature, SMVDU.
She has published several quality papers in the SCI, Scopus and UGC Journals, and has also participated in many national and international conferences.
Priyanka Gupta D/O Kushla Gupta & Surinder Mohan Gupta, W/O Ankush Gupta, R/O Last Morh, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu has been declared qualified for the award of the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in English by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra. She worked on the topic, "Re-interpreting Partition From Feminist Perspective in Selected Partition Novels" under the supervision of Dr. Amitabh Vikram Dwivedi and Dr. Anurag Kumar.

Ms. Bhushan Sharma, Research Scholar, School of Languages and Literature, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University has presented a paper in the 6th World Conference on Women’s Studies (WCWS 2020) held on 27th - 28th July, a virtual Conference in Zoom. More than 60+ delegates and students participated in the conference, which was held under the theme of “Overcoming Women’s Subordination: Socialization, Law and Structural Inequalities.”
Ms. Bhushan’s presentation was entitled “Dalit Women’s Life Narratives and the Outsider Within: Toward a Literary Practice of Dalit Feminist Standpoint.” She has submitted her Ph.D. thesis under the mentorship of Dr. Anurag Kumar, Faculty, School of Languages and Literature, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University.
Dr. Amitabh Vikram Dwivedi, Faculty, School of Languages & Literature, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra, delivered an expert talk on "Text, Textuality & Discourse", during the National Webinar Series on "Differentiated Instruction in the English Language Classroom-New Perspectives" (30 November-04 December 2020), organized by Sri Ramakrishna College Arts & Science for Women, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore.
The session was attended by a large audience across Indian States, including faculty members, research scholars and students. During an interactive session with the participants many questions were raised on the concepts of text, textuality, discourse and interpretation which were answered satisfactorily.

SMVDU Katra, FEB 2020. Dr. Amitabh V. Dwivedi, Head, School of Languages & Literature, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), delivered a plenary talk on “Conflicts and Family Life”, in a national conference on “Conflict and the Everyday: Narratives from the Personal and Public Realms” during 21-23 February 2020, where he discussed how petty trivialities and ordinary conflicts contribute to separation and divorce. He discussed both personal and textual narratives, and emphasised how a taxonomy of conflicts will help us providing a solution to avoid separation and divorce. Also, Ms. Devika Sharma, Research Student, SMVDU, presented on a topic, titled “Disturbance and Urban Conflict”, while scrutinising conflicts caused by communication gaps. The Faculty and scholar duo through their talks tried to find out the solution of any personal conflict, leading to miscommunication and disharmony in relationships. Dr. Dwivedi emphasised that conflict is a normal occurrence, and communication is the most important solution to family problems. Dr. Dwivedi thanked Dr. Quleen Kaur, HSS, IIT Jammu for inviting him to the event.
