Dr. Baijnath Kaushik, Associate Professor in the School of CSE, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra, was invited as a Resource Person in a one week STTP on "Potential and Challenges for Integrating 5G and IoT in Smart City Environment", 17th November, 2020 at Hindustan College of Engineering & Technology (Autonomous Institute), Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.
The Short Term Training Program was sponsored by AICTE under the ATAL training and learning scheme. This FDP was organized to deliberate and discuss the concepts and applications of 5G and the Internet of Things.
Other resource persons were invited from NIT Puducherry; Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeeth; Robert Bosch Business Solutions; Altran, United Kingdom and VIT Vellore.
Dr. Baijnath Kaushik delivered his lectures on the topic “Internet of Things: Security Issues, Challenges and Applications”. He put his emphasis on “Internet of Things and related models” where he deliberated on the Internet of Vehicles, Wireless Sensor Network, and Wireless Body Area Network.
Further, Dr. Kaushik discussed some security issues in these networks and proposed solutions, such as Remote Health Monitoring Systems, Sensor Web, Fire Monitoring and Alarm System for Coal Mine, Wildfire Detection using Ant Systems and Health Monitoring System using Fuzzy Decision Making Systems.
The STTP was attended by more than fifty participants from different colleges of Coimbatore through Google Meet Applications.
