Ms.Vippon Preet Kour, M.Tech scholar, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, has attended an International conference on Advancements in Engineering and Technology, sponsored by Ministry of Environment and Forest, Ministry of Home Affairs, Indian Society for Technical Education and CSIR- Council of Scientific and Industrial Research,at Punjab, India. Er. Vippon Preet Kour presented a research paper titled "Optical Character Recognition Techniques in Urdu-A Survey" coauthored by Dr Naveen Kumar Gondhi, Assistant Professor, DoCSE , SMVDU. The research paper focused on various optical character recognition algorithms based on conversion of typed and handwritten or printed text into machine-encoded text and study of various parameters while maintaining the authenticity of the document. This conference has been attended by delegates from 14 countries.

During the Conference, Er. Kour interacted with Eminent Academicians, Scientist as well Research Scholars across the globe to get latest knowledge and sharing the ideas with them related to Optical Character Recognition Techniques in the field of Computer Science. Vice Chancellor, SMVDU, Prof.Sanjeev Jain congratulated Er. Vippon Preet for attending the International conference.
