SMVDU Katra: SMVDU Chess Team had won 1st State inter-university chess championship organized on its campus from 8-10 September. The honouring ceremony of the winner team held yesterday. Vice Chancellor Prof. Sanjeev Jain honored the winners for their performance by presenting them the winners’ trophy and also gave his best wishes for the upcoming Association of Indian Universities (AIU) North Zone games at Jalandhar next week for Chess. Vice Chancellor also enquired about their preparations for the upcoming event. Registrar Prof. D. Mukhopadhay, Mr. Rajiv Kumar President Board of Sports Activities, Cp. Sucha Singh Sports Coach of University and Mr. Vinod Sharma Administrative Officer were also present during the honouring ceremony.
