SMVDU Katra: Two-day National Seminar on “Applied Linguistics and Literary Studies”, organized by the School of Languages & Literature, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University was concluded on 07 December 2017. Various topics were discussed during this seminar related to Translation, Literary Studies, and Applied Linguistics. Adding to the details about the Seminar Ms. Simarn Preet Kaur presented the Seminar Report: there were eight sessions chaired by Prof. Rajinish Mishra; Prof. Veerendra Mishra; Prof. Anima Chakraverty; Prof. Varun K. Tripathi; and Dr. Anurag Kumar, where 60 participants from 7 States and 13 Universities presented their research papers. In her Valedictory Speech, Prof. Chakravetry suggested the young scholars should be more focused. This two day National Seminar ended on a very informative and productive note. The formal Vote of Thanks was presented by Dr. Anurag Kumar. The seminar concluded with the best paper/poster presentation prize, and with the certificate distribution among all the participants.

SMVDU Katra: TechAspect Solutions a leading digital transformation agency serving organizations globally with superior enterprise digital experience, commerce, and marketing solutions conducted a pool campus drive at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra. A team of Technical and HR Panelists from TechAspect conducted the Campus Drive for 2018 passing out students. Students from GCET Jammu, MBS Jammu, MIET Jammu and BGBSU Rajouri participated in this pool campus drive at SMVDU. After passing through a rigorous campus selection process consisting of Online Test, Group Discussion, Technical Interview and HR Interview 08 students were declared finally selected out of a pool of 100 students by the TechAspect Recruitment Team. Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Jain, Vice Chancellor, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University congratulated all TechAspect final selects and advised them to be sincere, hardworking and honest to their work after joining. He also asked the students to stay at least 3 to 5 years with the company so that they get specialization in their field which will also be helpful for their juniors in the university.

SMVDU Katra: A Two-Day National Seminar was inaugurated at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University on Applied Linguistics & Literary Studies on 6th December 2017. Eighty participants from 13 universities and 7 States would present their papers and posters during the Seminar. Distinguished English Language Teaching (ELT) Expert and President Award Winner for Teaching Methods Prof. Anima Chakraverty graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Dr. Rajnish Mishra, Professor JNU, New Delhi, was the Keynote Speaker. Prof. Mishra enlightened the audience with an interacting session on an interface between Linguistics and Literary Studies. Dr. Varun K. Tripathi, Dean Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences laid emphasis on capturing the ideas in an anthology or book form. Dr. Amitabh V. Dwivedi, Head of the School, welcomed the guests and participants and assured that best papers and posters in each session would be awarded, and selected 20 best papers would be published in the book form by a reputed International Publication House. A Vote of thanks was presented by the Convener and Organising Secretaries: Dr. Anurag Kumar, Dr. Ranbir Kaur and Ms. Simran Preet Kaur respectively.
