SMVDU Katra: Prof. D. P. Agrawal, former Chairman of Union Public Service Commission and member of Executive Council of SMVDU, yesterday interacted with members of faculty, School of Business. The member of faculty discussed the issues related to quality improvement of MBA program with Prof. Agrawal, who enquired about MBA program’s present status, problems faced and challenges ahead. He suggested increasing the intake of MBA students from 60 to 120. To increase the visibility of the program, conduction of HR Summits, Conclave, MDPs for corporate employees, Seminars and Conferences with more participation from Corporate was suggested. To enhance the employability of MBA students, it was discussed that the students should be prepared as future marketers not salesmen, teaching with cases to prepare them for corporate world, simulations in the class for managing the job stress, association with teachers from IT so as to help the students in using Artificial Intelligence for problem solving and decision making. To attract more students in the program the quality intervention was highlighted. He also stressed upon engagement of students in research and publication that improve skills.

So as to attract quality students and to increase employability of our future managers, there is need of strong and consistent link between academia and industry. They both have to work in synergy for success in management research and creating the best management graduates. Prof. Agrawal was visiting SMVDU in connection to the Academic Audit and giving recommendation for improvement of various departments and programs of the University.
