22122022 atinAtin Kumar Pathak, Researcher, School of Energy Management, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) has been declared qualified for the award of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph. D) in Energy Management.The candidate worked on the topic, titled “Solar Energy Utilization for Wastewater Treatment and its Applications” under the supervisions of Dr. Vineet V. Tyagi, Head, School of Energy Management, SMVDU, and Dr. Sanjeev Anand, Associate Dean R&D, and Faculty, School of Energy Management, SMVDU. The candidate has published scientific research papers in SCI & Scopus-Indexed journals and published book chapters with international and national publishers. Atin Kumar Pathak is an awardee of the National DST-INSPIRE Fellowship (JRF and SRF), granted by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India (GoI), he thanked the DST-INSPIRE scheme program for granting the fellowship and providing financial support. Prof. (Dr.) R.K. Sinha, Vice-Chancellor, SMVDU; Dean, FoE, Prof. V. K. Bhatt, Dr. Ankush Anand, and other committee members congratulated the scholar and wished him a bright future ahead.

Gupta, PhD scholar, School of Energy Management has presented his research paper titled 'Framework for better adoption of sustainable energy development' authored by Rudraksh S.Gupta, Dr. Sanjeev Anand and Dr. Arjun Tyagi in the National Conference on Sustainable Environment: Water-Health-Agriculture-Climate Nexus (SEWHACN-2022 ) organised by Department of Environmental Sciences, Central University of Jammu. The presentation discussed a method to adapt and hasten up the uptake of sustainable energy sources to make the world carbon neutral and achieve the target set up by India in the Paris Agreement 2015.

12032018 atinKumarSMVDU Katra: Atin Kumar Pathak, Research Scholar in School of Energy Management, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, has been awarded with the best oral paper presentation award for paper titled “Solar stand-alone system for industrial wastewater treatment: A sustainable approach” in International conference on Sustainable Initiatives in Water Management (SWM-2018) organized by Manav Rachna University, Faridabad, in association with Royal Society of Chemistry, London and Green Chemistry Network Centre, Delhi University and sponsored by Indian Oil Research & Development Centre, Faridabad. The work was focused on the treatment of wastewater through solar energy. In this conference Mr. Atin K. Pathak got the opportunity to interact with eminent scientist, academicians as well as researchers and industrial experts across the globe working in the field of water management and treatment strategies. It is pertinent to mentioned that Mr. Atin K. Pathak is currently pursuing his Ph.D. under the supervision of Dr. V. V. Tyagi, and Dr. Sanjeev Anand at School of Energy Management, Faculty of Engineering, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University Katra. The head of school congratulated him on his achievement.

08112021 vtyagiContinuing with his research excellence journey, Dr. Vineet Veer Tyagi of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), has been featured second time in the research database of Elsevier and Stanford University that ranks 2 per cent of scientists worldwide based on publications, H-index, and citations in Scopus database.

He is heading the School of Energy Management, SMVDU, Katra, the only department in JKUT which offers M. Tech (Energy System) and Ph. D. programs in the field of energy technologies. Dr. Tyagi has been actively working in the research area of Solar Thermal Energy Storage, Phase Change Materials and its Applications, PV/Thermal System and Solar Desalination System. He has published more than 130-SCI/Scopus articles, 15 international book chapters and edited two international books.

He has also been named amongst the most cited researcher in the field of energy in the past year with an overall citation of 9900 in Scopus. In the session 2020-21, he has published more than 30 international and national level articles with high impact factor journals. Padma Shri Prof. (Dr.) R. K. a07122017 nipun1aSMVDU Katra: Mr. Nipun Sharma, a student of School of Energy Management, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University has been selected for 'Youth Leaders @Global Partnership Summit 2017’ organized by Indo-Japan collaboration which is to be held on 11th December at New Delhi, in which around 1000 delegates from across the globe, reputed speakers and Indian Govt. bureaucrats and Union Ministers are participating to have a common voice for the partnerships and potential of youth. Mr. Nipun will be representing the university and as a delegate will present the policies prepared by him. The theme of Youth Summit is ‘One Youth One Culture’. The summit is a platform to integrate ideologies, initiatives, projects, processes, people and policies. It allows for global partners to share knowledge, expertise and resources and works towards a common objective of establishing an Alternative Development Model (ADM) framework.

The study provides the names of most cited researchers in all scientific fields. Dr. Tyagi is actively working in the research area of Solar Thermal Energy Storage, Phase Change Materials and its Applications, PV/Thermal System and Solar Desalination System.

He started his research journey from 2003 and worked in various prestigious places like University of Malaya in Malaysia, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi and National Institute of Solar Energy (MNRE, Govt. of India). He is actively working in collaboration with Sunway University, Malaysia, Karadeniz Technical University, Turkey, IIT Delhi etc.

27102017 nipunSMVDU Katra: Nipun Sharma, M.Tech. student of the Department of Energy Management, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, is invited to participate in the Commonwealth Youth Summit 2017 with the theme “An intergenerational convergence” at the University of Nottingham, Malaysia from 3th to 5th November 2017 organized by the Commonwealth Youth Council in partnership with the Commonwealth Secretariat and the Malaysian Government, the Commonwealth Youth Summit will be the first of its kind. Key topics of focus are: Climate Policy and Finance, Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Peacebuilding & Global Inequality and Social Cohesion. “I feel privileged to represent India in the youth assembly,” says Nipun adding that it is a huge responsibility and he is willing to work hard to bring laurels to the country.

The goal of the Commonwealth youth council is to bring together young leader to exchange experience, foster learning, inspire and expand capacity. With this right opportunity and support, youth-led projects can make a real change in our society.
