Additionally, he has presented his research at various national and international conferences, showcasing his impressive work on a global platform.Mr. Sharma's accomplishments have not gone unnoticed. Dr. Surender Singh, Faculty, School of Mathematics, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra, delivered a talk at the virtual international conference on “Emerging Trends in Engineering, Science, Management & Commerce” organized by the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering, Madhyanchal Professional University, Bhopal (M. P.).The conference was organized during 21-22 May 2021.Dr. Singh delivered his talk (online) titled “On Some Concepts in Fuzzy Theory with Applications”.
The talk was mainly focused on the development of metric similarity measures using certain notions of fuzzy theory. The conference was organized in association with the Advance Research Educational Society (ARES), India. Dr. Rakesh Kumar, faculty member, School of Mathematics, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra, chaired two technical sessions in the 4th International Conference on Mathematical Techniques in Engineering Applications (ICMTEA 2020) from 4-5 December, 2020 at Graphic Era (Deemed to be university)/Graphic Era Hill University, Dehradun, Uttrakhand, India.
In this interdisciplinary conference, the researchers from Japan, Greece, Turkey, India and Poland presented academic papers in two technical sessions which will be published in SCIE, SCOPUS, and ESCI indexed journals through this conference.
The conference witnessed a huge participation across the globe. The eminent speakers like Prof. K.S. Trivedi (Duke University), Prof. P.K. Kapur (Amity University, Delhi), Prof. Tadashi Dohi (Hiroshima University), Prof. O. P. Yadav (North Dakota State University) and others delivered their plenary talks.

Dr. Surender Singh, Faculty, School of Mathematics had been invited as a resource person in the in the online "Refresher course in Mathematics and Statistics" organized by UGC-HRDC, BPS Women University, Khanpur (Sonipat), Haryana. He had delivered lectures in two sessions. The refresher course had been organized from 22th October 2020 to 6th November 2020. Fifty five faculty members from various colleges and Universities across the India participated in the course. Dr. Singh discussed the recent trends in Fuzzy Theory and interdisciplinary importance of fuzzy logic. The participants found the lectures of Dr. Singh very informative and pragmatic. Further, he thanked the Director, UGC-HRDC, BPS Women University and the Course-Coordinator Dr. Sunil Kumar for inviting him as a Resource Person.

College Simalwara Dungurpur (Rajasthan).
Dr. Singh delivered his talk (online) “On Some Applications of Non-Standard Fuzzy Sets” on 19th October, 2020. The talk was mainly focused on the applications of the non-standard fuzzy theory in the medical diagnosis and decision-making.
This FDP was organized in association with Advance Research Educational Society (ARES), India. A number of faculty members across India participated in this online FDP.

SMVDU, Katra. Ms. Sumita Lalotra, Research Student, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), has been declared qualified for the award of the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Mathematics.
Ms. Lalotra worked on the topic, “A study of Information Measures and Correlation Measures based on Intuitionistic and Hesitant Fuzzy Sets”, under the supervision of Dr. Surender Singh, Faculty, School of Mathematics, SMVDU.
During her Ph.D., she has published 05 SCIE indexed, 02 Scopus indexed and 01 UGC-CARE listed research papers in the International Journals of repute. She has also published a research paper in the International Journal of Intelligent Systems, an SCIE journal with impact factor 10.31.
