SMVDU Katra, 3rdAugust 2018. On the second last day of the induction program at SMVDU, Mrs. NeethaGilganchi, an accomplished soft skills trainer, addressed the newly admitted B. Tech students of various streams. She was introduced by Dr. Anil Tewari, Head, School of Philosophy & Culture, to the students. Mrs. Gilganchi interacted on an inspiring theme “Attitude of Gratitude.” She pointed out that there is a general tendency of taking the readily available things for granted. We are more after the things which are not with us so much so that we simply forget to see the relevance of the things at our disposal, she said. She cautioned that it should not mean that we should be complacent with whatever we have, instead we must long for the improvement over existing situation, but not at the cost of the value of the present. We should live every breath of our life fully with a sense of gratitude for whatever we have, she exhorted. Mrs. Gilganchi also conducted a brief activity engaging the students to demonstrate how the pre-conditionings tend to overpower our perception. In the end, Dr. Tewari thanked her for the inspirational talk, and presented a vote of thanks.
