SMVDU Katra, June 2019. To cope with the fast changing technology in the industry, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) is embarking on train the teachers to equip students through advanced curriculum and practical exposure to meet requirement of the 21st century industry. With this spirit, Dr. Balbir Singh, Faculty Member, School of Mechanical Engineering, and Dr. Amit Kant Pandit, Faculty Member, School of Electronics of Communication, SMVDU, completed a two-week industry academia Orientation Program in the Bosch India, Bangalore. The faculty members gained insight on the advanced technology and the best practices in design, manufacturing, quality, safety, maintenance etc., being practiced in advance Bosch plant in the fourth industrial revolution environment (i4.0). Industry 4.0 is enabling complete digitization of manufacturing and services in the cyber physical environment through the use of artificial intelligence, mechatronics, CNC machines, robotics, additive manufacturing, IoT, image processing, data analytic etc.
