SMVDU Katra: In pursuance of the mission for training the faculty members at best of National and International levels; Ar. Navin Gupta, Ar. Abhimanyu Sharma and Ar. Anoop Sharma, Faculty members in Architecture at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University attended 1 week Faculty Development Program (FDP)at MNIT Jaipur in Dec. 2017. The title of the program was “Energy efficient Building Design” and it was organized by Department of Architecture and Planning, Malviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT) Jaipur. The program was organized in collaboration with Council of Architecture’s Training and Research Council (COA-TRC). The faculty development program was participated by faculty members and professionals from all cross the country and more than 25 faculty members of different institutions in addition to practicing Architects attended it.
The program was focused on various energy efficient guidelines related to contemporary building design. The experts of the area from MNIT Jaipur and various Govt. and Pvt. Agencies elaborated the various key features involved in present day energy conscious Design and Architecture. The energy efficient building Code (ECBC) was the main crux of the program. The facilitators also introduced various energy simulation software like ‘Design-Build’ and ‘E-Quest’ during the program with dedicated sessions on the use of the same. Special sessions of the energy conservation techniques of the Rajasthan Architecture were also conducted by the main coordinator of the course Dr. Nand Kumar. The scope and need to adopt the area of energy conservation in buildings with the more accurate tools and software available nowadays was discussed and emphasized in the concluding remarks of the course. Dr. Tarush Chandra, Head of Architecture department-MNIT Jaipur delivered the concluding address of the course and congratulated one and all for successful and healthy interaction during the course.
