SMVDU 5 March, 2018: One-Day National Doctoral Student Conclave jointly organized by School of Languages and Literature and School of Philosophy & Culture was held on 5th March at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University. The adviser of the program was Prof. Kapil Kapoor whose message was read by Dr. Anurag, highlighting the prominence for theorizing the theories so that we may use the most appropriate theory, a good fit for the object we seek to understand and appreciate. Prof. P.Jetli, Visiting Professor, TISS; Prof. Santosh Kumar Sharma from IIM, Jammu; Prof. Sadaf Shah from University of Jammu; Dean faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Prof. V.K. Tripathi; were the main dignitaries on the occasion. The Faculty of Humanities observes Research Day each semester, in the first week of March and the third week of September. With this aim, the School of Languages and Literature in collaboration with School of Philosophy and Culture wants to establish a culture of organizing and celebrating “One Day National Doctoral Student Conclave” on Research Day at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, for recognizing and upgrading the research aptitudes of the Research Scholars in and around the Jammu & Kashmir region. The PhD students were given an opportunity to showcase their research work. The event provided students with a valuable learning experience and faculty members with the chance to support research aptitude in the Schools. The Resource Persons evaluated each participant and cash prizes of ₹1500, ₹1000 and ₹750 were awarded to Mr. Ravi Parihar, Tanima Anand and Parul Priya respectively. Dr. Ranbir Kaur, Assistant Professor, School of Languages and Literature presented the vote of thanks.
